What Is Hotel IPTV and How Is It Different from a Standard Shared TV System?

Hotel IPTV delivers everything on the room TV over the IP network: channels, a personalised welcome screen, hotel information and casting, with every TV managed from one console. A standard shared TV system (MATV/SMATV) only delivers channels over coax.

How it works

  1. Channel sources: terrestrial, satellite and in-house
  2. Headend/encoders convert channels to IP
  3. Middleware server holds menus and connects to the PMS
  4. Network (switches or GPON) carries channels to every room
  5. Hospitality TVs display directly, or STBs are used
