Product Overview
The Tap-Off 2way (Tap Off 2 way) FRACARRO TAPS215 (Code 287314) is a professional-grade, 2-output horizontal directional tap featuring a compact top-down design and standard F-connectors. Operating across a wideband frequency range of 5 to 2400 MHz, it perfectly distributes Return Channel, digital terrestrial television (TV), and satellite (SAT) signals in multi-dwelling installations.
Technical Features
- 2-Output Configuration: Allows you to distribute signals to two separate apartment units or subscriber devices from a single component.
- 15 dB Constant Tap Attenuation: Delivers a stable and flat 15 dB loss across all frequencies, safely extracting a balanced, moderate level of signal for the user lines.
- Insertion Loss: Maintains line efficiency with a loss of 2 dB on Return Channel, 2.5 dB on TV bands, and a maximum of 4 dB at high satellite frequencies (2150 to 2400 MHz).
- High Output Isolation: Offers high port isolation ranging from 25 to 30 dB, ensuring no cross-talk or noise interference leaks between the two output lines.
- DC Pass-Through: Allows direct current to pass strictly along the main backbone path (Through Output to Input) to feed upstream LNBs, while keeping both subscriber tap ports entirely DC-blocked.
- Premium Housing: The die-cast zinc casing offers outstanding electromagnetic immunity and fits neatly into standard wall junction boxes with its 55 x 64 x 27 millimeter dimensions.
Applications
- Middle-Floor Balanced Distribution: Ideally suited for the mid-level floors of multi-story buildings in a cascaded network, where it taps off a moderate, well-balanced signal for two adjacent apartments while letting the rest of the signal travel safely to lower levels.
- Cascaded Equalization: Acts as the essential middle tier in a network. Installers can combine a TAPS220 (20 dB) on top floors, this TAPS215 (15 dB) on middle floors, and a TAPS212 (12 dB) on bottom floors to ensure every unit in the building gets identical signal quality.
- Electrical Firewalls for Multi-Family Units: With its high isolation and DC-blocked tap ports, it acts as a barrier. Any unexpected short-circuits or feedback noise coming from one tenant's box is completely isolated at the port and will not affect the building's infrastructure or the adjacent room's television.
