Product Overview
The Tap-Off 1 way (Tap Off 1 way) FRACARRO TAPS110 is a professional 1-output horizontal directional tap (top-down installation style) featuring a standard F-connector. It is purposefully engineered for both television and satellite signal distribution systems, operating within a wideband frequency range of 5-2400MHz (covering Return Channel, digital TV, and SAT bands).
Technical Characteristics & Specifications
- Tap Attenuation (Tap Loss): It provides a flat and constant -10dB attenuation across all frequency bands. This means the signal extracted from the tap port is split efficiently to deliver a robust output level for the subscriber.
- Low Insertion Loss: The main through-line signal remains strong, with a very low insertion loss of just -2dB in the Return Channel and TV bands, and ranging between -2.5 to -3.5 dB at higher satellite frequencies.
- High Output Isolation: It offers an excellent isolation rating between outputs, reaching -22 to -28 dB depending on the frequency. This effectively prevents any reverse noise or signal reflections from disrupting the primary distribution line.
- Premium & Compact Construction: Made of high-quality die-cast zinc, the housing guarantees outstanding electromagnetic shielding performance. Its elegant and ultra-compact physical size (55x64x27mm.) allows it to be neatly hidden inside any standard wall junction box. It also features built-in provisions for wall mounting and an earth connection for surge protection.
- DC Pass-Through: Direct Current (DC) is permitted to pass freely between the through output and the main input. This allows power to travel up the backbone line to feed a satellite LNB, while the tap port remains safely DC-blocked to protect user equipment.
Applications
Given its -10dB tap loss specification, the TAPS110 is ideally suited for MATV, SMATV, or CATV multi-dwelling building architectures (such as apartments or hotels) under the following scenarios:
- End-of-Line Backbone Distribution (Cascade Trunk Systems): In a typical multi-story cascade setup, coaxial signals gradually weaken as they travel down from the top floor due to cable length losses. The TAPS110 is the perfect choice for the lower floors or near the end of the trunk line. Because its tap loss is relatively low (-10dB), it can efficiently "harvest" the remaining lower-voltage signal from the backbone and deliver sufficient signal strength straight to the apartment’s wall outlet.
- Safe Signal Splitting with Isolated Power Zones: Since DC pass-through is strictly restricted to the main through-to-input path, installing this unit to feed an individual room ensures absolute system safety. Any unexpected voltage or short-circuit originating from a tenant's satellite receiver or set-top box will be completely blocked at the tap port, protecting the entire building's central infrastructure from interference or electrical damage.
