Buildings shadowed by nearby towers do not need a dish on every balcony. The building's shared TV system can receive channels from one satellite dish, convert them to terrestrial digital TV (DVB-T2) and feed them into the existing coax. Every DVB-T2 TV can watch without a set-top box.
| Option | Best for | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| UHF antenna + amplifier | Weak but measurable signal | Fails when heavily blocked |
| Satellite converted to DVB-T2 (SMATV) | Blocked buildings, extra channels | Headend investment |
| Residents install own dishes | Very small buildings | Cluttered facade, box in every room |
| IPTV / FTTR | Major renovation, hotels | New network investment |
At its 21 October 2026 meeting the NBTC board had not settled spectrum allocation. One open question is whether C-Band (3700–4200 MHz) will be used for mobile by 2029; if sharing is not feasible, C-Band satellite users may need to move to KU-Band. New installations should allow for a KU-Band dish and dual-band transmodulators.
