What Are Commercial TV, Hospitality TV, and Hotel TV?
Commercial TV refers to televisions designed for commercial or enterprise (B2B) use rather than for general home entertainment. They are engineered for long operating hours, high durability, and support for external control and management systems such as centralized control platforms, network systems, or enterprise software. Commercial TVs are widely used in various environments including meeting rooms, retail stores, hotels, hospitals, government facilities, digital signage, and other commercial buildings.

Hospitality TV is a subcategory of Commercial TV specifically designed for service-oriented businesses such as hotels, hospitals, resorts, and serviced apartments. The key feature of Hospitality TV is Hotel Mode, which restricts guest access to system settings, prevents improper configuration changes, and allows the TV to automatically reset to its default state after each guest check-out. In addition, Hospitality TVs support welcome screens, brand customization, and integration with TV distribution systems such as MATV or IPTV.

Hotel TV is a term commonly used in marketing and practical applications within the hotel industry to refer to Hospitality TV. It is not a separate technical category. In practice, Hotel TV and Hospitality TV refer to the same type of device: a Commercial TV optimized for hotel guest rooms, offering durability, secure configuration, and effective communication with guests through the television screen.
When Hospitality TV is used together with hospitality software platforms such as LG Pro:Centric, the television becomes more than just a TV display. It serves as a centralized platform for the guest experience, capable of showing welcome messages, hotel information, in-room services, and connecting to hotel back-end systems according to the size and operational needs of the business. Pro:Centric itself is not a television, but software that runs on Hospitality TV to elevate its role from a guest room TV to a hotel service and communication tool.
In summary, Commercial TV is the broad category of professional-grade televisions, Hospitality TV is a Commercial TV designed specifically for service businesses, and Hotel TV is the market term used for Hospitality TV in hotel environments. While these terms are closely related, each reflects a different level of application and purpose depending on the business context and the systems integrated with the TV.
