Product Overview
The Tap-Off 4 way (Tap Off 4 way) FRACARRO TAPS412 (Code 287316) is a high-performance, 4-output horizontal directional tap utilizing standard F-connectors in a compact top-down design. Operating across a broad frequency band from 5 to 2400 MHz, it is fully optimized to distribute Return Channel, digital terrestrial television (TV), and satellite (SAT) signals in professional multi-dwelling installations.
Technical Features
- 4-Output Layout: Features 4 separate subscriber tap outlets, allowing you to feed up to four different rooms or devices from a single point.
- 12 dB Constant Tap Attenuation: Delivers a stable and flat 12 dB attenuation across all frequency spectrums. This ensures a reliable, even distribution of signal strength to all four output lines.
- Low Insertion Loss: The main coaxial line experiences minimal signal loss, ranging from 2.5 dB in the Return Channel up to 4 dB at high satellite frequencies. This allows the main backbone signal to travel downstream efficiently.
- High Isolation & Shielding: Provides high isolation (between 22 dB and 28 dB) between outputs to completely eliminate cross-talk and mutual interference. Crafted from a robust die-cast zinc housing, it guarantees premium electromagnetic immunity with compact dimensions of 84 x 64 x 27 mm.
- DC Pass-Through Configuration: Direct current (DC) is permitted to pass strictly along the main line (Through Output to Input) to power LNBs or amplifiers. The 4 tap ports are safely DC-blocked to protect user equipment.
Applications
- Lower-Floor Distribution in High-Rise Buildings: In cascaded backbone networks, the signal becomes progressively weaker on the lower floors. Placing the TAPS412 (12 dB) at these lower-tier floors allows installers to efficiently extract a healthy portion of the remaining signal to supply up to four rooms with clear, uncompromised pictures.
- Vertical System Balancing: For buildings with 4 rooms per floor, installers can balance the entire system's signal by pairing different taps. Placing high-attenuation taps (like 20 dB or 15 dB) on the upper floors and this TAPS412 (12 dB) on the lowest floors guarantees that every apartment in the building receives identical signal levels.
- Space-Saving Single-Box Installations: Instead of using multiple 2-way taps that clutter up junction boxes and increase insertion loss, the 4-way TAPS412 serves as a clean, space-saving solution that keeps installation areas neat and highly organized.
